所以 take chances、take no chances 都見得到。
take/run a risk
take/run risks
take (one's) chance

take advantage of利用機會;佔便宜

You should take advantage of the free classes.

Pastor John is going to stay here for a week, so do take advantage of him(約翰牧師要在這裡停留一週,所以要好好把握這個機會)。

take after相像

Ian takes after his father in the way he always asks questions.
例如,我們可以說,he takes after his mother in appearance,中文意思就是「他長得和他媽媽很像。」
He resembles his mother.
He looks like his mother.
He and his mother look alike.
另外,take after 也是「傚法;模仿」的意思,用英文解釋就是 follow the example of。
take for granted視為理所當然
I take it for granted that you are going to help me.
Randy took his wife for granted.

我們也可以說 take (something) for granted。
I have learnt not to take anything for granted.
Death and illness remind us not to take life for granted.
例如,我們可以說:children always take their parents for granted。
我們也可以說 don't take it for granted。

Nancy loved all that she was taking in in the new class.

在第二句中,take in 是「留宿」的意思,可以用 put up 來代換,變成 the family put the children up for a night。
第三句和第四句中,take in 是「吸收」的意思,這個片語與 get it 或者是 catch (someone's) 意思相近。

take it忍受

After two weeks of rain, Henry couldn't take it anymore.
The company was too busy; employees couldn't take it.
take it 是「忍受」的意思。
另外,和 take it 意思相近的片語是 stand it。例如,爸爸可能會對兒子說:you're fooling around; I can't stand it(你整天都在鬼混,我真受不了你!)或是 the living room is too noisy. I can't stand it.

英文就是 her acting career is just begging to take off。
要注意的是,當 take off 用在上面這三個意思的時候,take off 都不可以分開,如果是 take (some time) off 就變成是指「請假」了。 Jon is going to take two weeks off to visit Hawaii。

take on承擔;較量

Debbie is taking on new responsibilities at work.
Larry had to take on a second job to pay his bills.
Sally took on her brother in a game of chess.

I'd like to order some food to take out.
I'd like a large Hawaii pizza to take out.
I am taking her out to dinner,通常是指「我要請她吃晚餐」。
have an appointment with
go out with 情侶之間的交往
I'd like to make a take-out order。
除了 take out 之外,to go 也是很常用的片語,在美國速食店裡,服務生在你點完餐後一定會問你:(is that) for here or to go?(要內用還是外帶?)

take (one's) time慢慢來

Victor likes to take his time and do things correctly.

I'm taking home some useful tips from this experience.

可以用 have + taken
例如 I've taken home some useful tips from this experience.

I've taken home the lesson learned from this incident.

I'm taking home the wonderful experiences from our trip to Italy.

雖然之前有問是take it serious 還是take it seriously 哪一個對,雖然說是take it seriously 文法上正確,但是用google搜尋反而take it serious搜尋到的結果比take it seriously的筆數還多,是不是take it serious跟take it easy一樣越來越多人用,進而被大家接受,改天serious 也有副詞的用法?
Take it serious
可是 take it seriously才是正確的文法

take no prisoners
